You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother's womb.
Psalm 139
"Every human person—no matter how vulnerable or helpless... no matter how useful or productive for society—is a being of inestimable worth created in the image and likeness of God."
Embracing Grace was founded by families who have experienced the heartbreaking news of a prenatal diagnosis. We offer peer support and a network of resources to women and families who choose to carry their child to term.
Upon receiving an unexpected diagnosis, parents are often left feeling devastated, fearful, and overwhelmed. We provide a variety of services to help families during this time including birth planning, memory making, and preparing siblings.
Embracing Grace is the peer support component within a perinatal hospice model of care. This model provides supportive services that can be incorporated into standard maternity and birth care.
This site, as with Embracing Grace newsletter and other materials and activities, is not intended as counseling or as medical or legal advice, nor as a substitute for participation in a bereavement support group, professional counseling, or any other activity appropriate for bereaved parents. Instead it is a parent-to-parent effort to share our experiences and offer each other understanding of the special aspects of receiving a prenatal diagnosis and infant loss, and help others to learn how the needs of these parents may be supported. This site is for general use and we urge you to consult a physician, counselor or other professional with any questions you may have about your individual situation.
